Please note, all 3 of our book clubs meet on the THIRD WEEK OF THE MONTH. Sometimes the third Monday falls in a different week than the third Wednesday or Thursday.
I have my group (Mondays) and Kathy's group (Wednesdays) listed here. While we read the same 6 books, we do alternate which month they are offered. I have also included Jose's popular and growing Decidedly Dystopian schedule. If you want a sneak peek, click here to see my glowing review of his July book.
Remember, if you cannot join us, I post reviews of my group's discussion within a few days of our monthly meeting. And you can always click here for all of my posts labelled book discussion books.

Becky, we have some strong book clubs going in Oak Park in the afternoon, but we can't seem to get anything going in the evening. How are BPL's evening groups doing in terms of numbers? Steady regulars? Innovative marketing? Declining interest? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDonna, this is a great question. I talked to Kathy who leads the night time club to verify, but as I suspected, her group is stable at about 10-15 regulars each month in the evenings. We like to have 12 each time, but we allow up to 20.
ReplyDeleteIt took her about 18 months to get to stability with the group and this has held (and even grown a bit) for the last few years.
The Dystopian group is new and has about 5 right now, but it only started in Feb. We are giving it 18 months to grown and thrive.
See you later today.
