RA for All Roadshow Virtual Appearance: Matinées du Rendez-vous des bibliothèques publiques du Québec

This morning I am giving the keynote address to open Matinées du Rendez-vous des bibliothèques publiques du Québec. This event was supposed to be last June and I was going to be there in person, but alas...pandemic. They are going ahead in a virtual environment this year, and I am very excited to kick the three day conference off with a pep talk to all of the attendees.

I am presenting my "RA Basics Renovated" keynote to the group. This program is based off of a program that first appeared as part of the NoveList Day of Learning back in February when I presented with Autumn Friedli. While I have "renovated" this presentation from its original appearance, I did ask Autumn for permission and credit her at the end of today's slides.

I am excited about appearing in English, while having my words translated into French, in real time. I got to meet the live translator during our tech check. This seems so daunting to me, but I also know that this is how they function daily in Montreal, in a dual language environment. Very impressive

This program is a great keynote for any conference that is centered around books and readers. It is a basic summary of everything I teach, my unique brand of RA, and includes links to so much more. It really is a pep talk, 45 minutes of shaking library workers our of complacency and challenging us to embrace ourselves as readers. It is about creating relationships with readers NOT tallying transactions. You will see what I mean in the slides here and below.
