Monday Discussion: What Do You Want To Know

Last week, I attended my first Unconference.  It was sponsored by ARRT so it was all RA based.

The unconference concept is pretty easy. Instead of a conference of planned events and meetings, you gather first and then come up with the topics together and share ideas more spontaneously.  If you want to know more about Unconferences in general click here.

I brought back a good deal of information, ideas, and contacts from the ARRT Unconference that will help me to serve my patrons better. Here is some of what was talked about over on Twitter.

But, the experience also made me think about this blog. I thought this might me a good time to ask all of you, what topics you want to know more about.

So for today's Monday Discussion, I am asking you to tell me what you want me to write about, what you want me to look into more, and what you want me to expand upon as it relates to current RA issues and trends.

Be as specific or as general as you want. If your library is struggling with something, there is a good chance someone else is too.

I may answer some of you privately or put you in touch with someone who could better assist you.

I may use your questions as a future Monday Discussion. Or I may write a post or create a new program all about it.

The point is, I want to know what you want to know about. So bring it on in the comments below.

Since you're asking, your thoughts on trends in crime and suspense fiction would be really interesting as well as your thoughts on genres and sub genres. Thank you!

Great news MerleN, there will be a lot of Crime talk here real soon as I will be leading a Crime Genre study for 2014-15.

Gotcha on sub genres. Good call. Very hot and confounding.
