I've listened to about 7.5 hours of Chernow's "Hamilton" with about 31 hours to go. It's great -- even without the music.
I used to have a 7-minute commute, but now that I have a real commute back and forth to my library, I'm listening to more audiobooks. I've realized that I'm a bit picky (who knew?) about what I like to listen to, but on the upside, I pay a lot more attention to audiobooks, readers, what new ones are coming out, etc. because I talk to more patrons about audiobooks. Even though I don't order AV materials, I often put them in our displays with books.
I got a good tip from a patron the other day, which I'm going to start sharing. She listens to the Diana Gabaldon books on audio and loves them. She says she discovered books by Darynda Jones because she went searching for more audiobooks that had been read by the person reading the Gabaldon books. And, she's enjoying the books by Darynda Jones now. Good tip!
