The Webster Branch of the NY Public Library just did a great display which asked readers, "Do you judge a book by its cover?"
They wrapped books in plan brown paper and put a short description of the book on the cover. To the right is a photo of the most popular book on the display.
Click through to their blog post describing the display/experiment to find out what this book is and to read more about the display.
I love this idea! I am going to talk to John, our BPL RA display guru, about us doing something like this. Not only is it fun for the patrons, but the exercise of coming up with the empirical descriptions to put on the covers is a great RA training exercise too.
