- It's SHARK WEEK!!! Book Riot ran this list of 4 books to go with your viewing. Also, if you have a chance to stop by the BPL, John put up an impromptu display of "Scary Fish" books, complete with an actual taxidermy piranha that he found, no joke, in a box of donated books a while back.
- The Thurber Prize for American Humor finalists were announced this week.

Huffington Post just ran an article today about this being the best fall for readers. They listed all the books coming out. Some must reads in there!
