NYT Summer Reading Website

The New York Times has greatly improved the website for their summer reading this year.  They still have the wide range of categories but the site is easier to use. Click here to see 73 suggestions in the following categories:

  • Thrillers
  • Cooking
  • True Crime
  • Movies & TV
  • Romance
  • Travel
  • Music
  • The Great Outdoors
  • Sports

Also, if you scroll to the very bottom of the Summer Reading site, there is access to a few more articles like these:

Of course, this site is not perfect; then again no single resource ever is. For example, here there is the glaring absence of ANY speculative fiction, and there is no link to summer reading suggestions from previous years. However, I do like the larger range of Nonfiction this list provides.

I would highly suggest pairing this site with my favorite Summer Reading resource-- The PW Summer Reading site with full backlist access.

Summer is in the air. Let’s not forget that many adults pick up their only books of the year during the summer. Let’s make sure we have a nice wide range of suggestions for them. And, they don’t have to be brand new to be worth their time.
