Andrew Carnegie Medal Shortlist Selection Day For Me = Backlist Reminder For You

In a few hours, the 2023 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction Committee [which I am on] is meeting to get our current longlist down to 3 fiction and 3 nonfiction shortlist titles.

Click here for the current longlist with review access for every title from Booklist. And click here for my post announcing the 2023 longlist.

We will be announcing the 2023 Shortlist on 11/15, but in the meantime, I would like to remind everyone that all titles considered for the ACM are all superior examples of writing for a general adult audience. In plainer language that means these are ALL sure bets.

Every title over the years that has made the longlist is a great place to start as you suggest books to readers. Being a "sure bet" doe not mean every title works for every reader. No, there is no list that can do that. Rather, what is means is that every longlist title over the last 12 years is a solid starting point to find a proven winner, both in terms of quality of writing AND in that titles appeal to a general adult audience.

So while I am working on the next shortlist, go here to see the page with super easy, one click access to 12 year of longlist titles to help you help patrons be it with suggestions, lists, or displays.
