Things to Know

Although I usually only post the Monday Discussion on Mondays, I have too many things to pass on to wait for tomorrow.

• This past weekend the International Thriller Writers handed out their annual awards.  Click here for the full story.
• Everyone is talking about the new Nordic Noir of Lars Kepler (actually a husband and wife team).  Click here for an interview and here for more info on The Hypnotist from the awesome resource, Nordic Bookblog.  I am going to be on this site often.
• I have been holding on to this one since last week, but big news, The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction will now be online and FREE!
• Via RA Online, a link to the podcast for the BEA program featuring librarians called, The Great Readalike.
• And finally, with the long awaited 6th installment of George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series coming out tomorrow, I can assure you many patrons will have a long wait, so get prepared ahead of time with these readalike lists from other libraries:
